“He was honoured for remaining devoted and dedicated to duty, even after being abducted by Rhodesian Rebel soldiers following an exchange of fire on 18th September 1978, while serving as a Prison Officer at Katombora Reformatory School in Livingstone. He was tortured and later released after forty (40) days.”
