“He was honoured for the role he played in the Choir which crafted songs to motivate and inspire the Africans to rise against the colonial masters. As a leader of the Action Group, he worked in different areas mobilizing people to join the freedom fight. These areas included the chiefdoms of Unda-Unda, Mumpansha and Shikabeta, and also in Chanyanya, Chipapa and Kafue Mission School. He was arrested and imprisoned at Central Prison nicknamed as Chimbokaila.”
