“She was honoured for dedicating her life to the fight for freedom of Mother Zambia. She started politics in 1958 and had great zeal to fight colonialism. She was involved in burning identity Certificates (Ifitupa) and cattle for white farmers. She was sent to Solwezi to work as Division Secretary for Women. In 1961, she was arrested and deported to Kasama where she was imprisoned for 6 months. In 1990 she moved to Mpika and served as UNIP Ward Chairperson.”
