“He was honoured for having advised the government on a wide array of international organisations in a number of development and conservation related issues. He did research relating to responses of savannah vegetation and plants to climatic factors and human disturbances, particularly fire. He published several books and over 100 papers. He trained as well as mentored over 100 students at Bachelor of Science, Master of Science and Doctorate levels.”
