“He was honoured for distinguishing himself as a freedom fighter in 1959 when the Federal Government declared a state of Emergency and the time when most of the leaders under Dr Kenneth Kaunda's leadership were detained. He worked hand in hand with Grey Zulu in ensuring that freedom was attained. He became Member of Parliament for Masala Constiuency in Ndola from 1973 to 1988 and served as Minister of Home Affairs.”
