“He was honoured for being a gallant Freedom Fighter who participated in the struggle for freedom, justice and equality for all, regardless. He was arrested by Mr. L.A. Hicks, the Inspector General Of Police in Northern Rhodesia and was deported by the colonial regime to the United Kingdom for his involvement in the Africans’ politics. He only returned to Zambia after independence. The Presidential citation stated, “Having regard to your services whereby you have given great service to the national cause which resulted in the attainment of independence by Zambia.””
