“He was honoured for serving his Soli subjects for 28 years in a quite competent manner. At 71 years, he succeeded Chief Kabwata in 1935 and took over the administration of the Malundu and Manyika areas of the district. He co-operated with government and gave unflinching support to the proposals for the improvement of the Soli Native Authority. He maintained peace throughout his reign as there were no known disturbances or serious breach of law and order in his kingdom. He had a very restraining influence in his area during the difficult period of 1963 when there were divided political feelings in the country between ANC and UNIP.”
