“He was honoured for his tireless effort in his capacity as Deputy Chief Mwemba in Gwembe District to plan and foster development. He had the task of settling the displaced villagers in the district in 1952, a problem which was escalated by the creation of the Kariba Hydro-Electric Power station project there. He was very loyal to the chief’s subjects and a very useful and proactive member of the Gwembe Native Authority.”
