“He was honoured for being the first few Scientists at Mt. Makulu Research Station in Chilanga where he worked as Agricultural Research Officer specializing in plant breeding and his acceptance to join the Zambian politics at an early stage. He became a UNIP Member of Parliament for Lusaka West and held various ministerial positions in government. They included Minister of Agriculture, Minister of Finance, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Prime Minister.”
